About Sea to Sky RV
Hi, I’m Izzy,

In October 2024 I did something a little unconventional. My partner and I packed up, moved to Whistler, and bought an ex-rental 25ft motorhome named Thora the Explorer. That winter we lived in her at an RV park — working, skiing and exploring the Sea to Sky corridor whenever we could. It was chaotic, brilliant and unlike anything I’d done before.
By spring we’d caught the road trip bug properly. We headed south on a big adventure down the Sea to Sky and into Oregon and Washington — just us, Thora, and a very long list of places we wanted to see.
We’ve since moved back to Squamish and upgraded to a 28ft trailer on a pad — less mobile, but we’re still very much living the RV life. After nearly two years of full-time RV living, we know this lifestyle inside out. The upkeep, the quirks, where to find propane at 7am on a Monday, which campgrounds actually have space for a bigger rig — we’ve figured it all out the hard way so you don’t have to.
Why I Built This Site
The road trip was where the idea for Sea to Sky RV really came from.
Every time we wanted to stop somewhere — a waterfall, a trailhead, a viewpoint — we’d hit the same problem. Would Thora fit in the parking? Was there room to turn around? We spent more time than I’d like to admit squinting at Google Street View trying to figure out if a parking lot could handle a 25ft motorhome. Sometimes we got it wrong.
But it wasn’t just parking. Finding a dump station, tracking down a fresh water fill, figuring out where the nearest propane refill was before we ran out on a Sunday evening — all of it meant cross-referencing multiple websites and trawling through outdated forum posts for information that should have been simple to find.
Good, reliable RV travel information for the Sea to Sky didn’t exist in one place. So I built it. Everything here is researched and written from real local experience — campgrounds with honest amenity details, services with accurate hours, things to do with genuine notes on what works for your rig size. All fact-checked by someone who’s actually been there.
It’s all in one place, because it should have been all along.
What You’ll Find Here
The site has two main parts:
The Directory — a curated collection of RV-friendly campgrounds, essential services (propane, fresh water, dump stations, laundry and groceries) and things to do along the Sea to Sky corridor. Every listing is chosen because it’s genuinely useful for RV and campervan travelers — not just copied from a generic database.
The Travel Guides — practical, honest blog posts covering everything from where to rent an RV in Vancouver to the best hikes in Squamish with RV-friendly parking. Written from experience, not just research.
A Note on Local Businesses
A lot of the services listed on this site are small, independent local businesses — family-run campgrounds, local gas stations, community laundromats. Many of them offer services to RV travelers as a courtesy.
If you use a free service listed here — a fresh water fill-up, a propane refill at a small station — please support that business while you’re there. Fill up on fuel, grab a coffee, buy something from the store. These businesses are the backbone of the Sea to Sky community and your support helps keep these services available for future travelers.
Still Growing
Sea to Sky RV is a young site and I’m adding new listings, guides and resources all the time. If you know of a great campground, service or hidden gem that should be listed here — or if you spot anything that needs updating — I’d love to hear from you.
And if you’re heading out on a Sea to Sky road trip, I hope this site makes your adventure a little easier and a little more enjoyable.
Happy travels 🏔️
