Sea to Sky Gondola
Overview
Iconic Sea to Sky attraction offering panoramic views over Howe Sound and Squamish. Large dedicated parking lot suitable for RVs, campervans, and trailers, making it one of the most RV-friendly attractions in the region.
Sea to Sky Gondola
The Sea to Sky Gondola is a scenic aerial lift and mountain attraction located in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. Opened in 2014, it rises 885 meters from sea level to a mountaintop summit offering panoramic views of Howe Sound, the Coast Mountains, and the Stawamus Chief. It has become a signature outdoor experience along the Sea to Sky Highway corridor.
Experience and Attractions
Visitors board eight-passenger cabins with floor-to-ceiling glass windows for a 10-minute ascent over coastal rainforest and waterfalls to the Summit Lodge area. The summit features several viewing decks—Summit Lodge, Spirit, and Chief Overlook—that frame vistas of ocean inlets and alpine peaks. The 100-meter Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge connects these viewpoints, offering a safe yet exhilarating walk above deep mountain valleys.
Trails and Outdoor Activities
An extensive network of walking and hiking trails begins at the summit. The short Spirit Trail provides interpretive exhibits on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation culture, while the Panorama Trail leads to the Chief Overlook Platform. Longer options include the Sea to Summit Trail, which climbs 6.5 kilometers from the base to the lodge. Seasonal offerings include guided hikes, Via Ferrata climbing tours, snowshoeing, and a winter tubing park.
